The trailer for the upcoming Australian film, Holding The Man has been released this morning as anticipation grows for the local film following its premiere at the closing of the Sydney Film Festival last week.

Directed by Neil Armfield, this remarkable true life story stars Ryan Corr and Craig Stott as Timothy Conigrave and John Caleo, whose enduring love affair has been immortalised in both Tim’s cult-classic memoir and Tommy Murphy’s award-winning stage play of the same name.

Filmed in Melbourne and Sydney, the film also stars Kerry Fox, Sarah Snook, Camilla Ah Kin, Guy Pearce and Anthony LaPaglia.

The story follows the journey of two men’s exploration of homosexuality, from the moment they first meet at Melbourne’s Xavier College, to their tragic, final moments together in hospital.

Holding The Man will be released nationally on 27 August and comes at a time of great debate over same sex marriage in Australia.

The film’s official soundtrack, will be released through Sony Music Australia on August 21 and is available for pre-order through JBHifi and Sanity from today.
