WATCH: Aussie Bloke Explains How He Saved A Blue-Tongue Lizard By Giving It CPR
This is the good news story we have all been waiting for. We needed this today.
On Anzac Day, Caloundra resident Dale Hall came home to find a lifeless blue-tongue lizard at the bottom of his pool. But wait, the story isn’t over. Dale decided to pull the lizard out of his pool and perform CPR on the little guy. Well… of course.
“I was like, ‘Oh no. Goner. First casualty for the pool,” he told ABC News.
While initially the lizard didn’t respond to Dale and his nephew Jayden’s efforts, after a few close calls, eventually the lil guy was picked up by volunteers at Wildlife Rescue Sunshine Coast. Because of Dale, after being taken to Australia Zoo Animal Hospital, the lucky reptile is on a nebuliser and doing well.
Not all heroes wear capes.
Dale talked us through the harrowing experience to a disbelieving Karl Stefanovic on ‘The Today Show’.
