Since 2013, James Blunt has been devotedly taking the piss out of himself on Twitter and, when we’re lucky, television. Now, the singer-songwriter has another medium on which to make jokes about how crap ‘You’re Beautiful’ is: he’s scored a new hosting job on Australian radio.

Classic hits home SmoothFM has announced that Blunt is joining the station as a guest host, stepping up for a four-week stint that will put him on air every Sunday afternoon from May 28 to June 18.

Wondering where the fuck this came from? Apparently recruiting celebrity special guests is SmoothFM’s thing: they’ve had Olivia Newton-John, Dolly Parton and Elton John in the hot seat before, with Masterchef host Matt Preston (?!) up next.

And if his appearance on Charlie Pickering’s Hard Chat is anything to go by, we think James Blunt will be a very good host:

Blunt’s show airs from 4pm each week on SmoothFM 95.3 Sydney and 91.5 Melbourne. We won’t judge you for tuning in.
