Today The Internet Decided We Ditch The Queen On Our Fiver, Here Are The Better Options
Today the Reserve Bank has unveiled a redesign of Australia’s $5 banknote, which will be issued into circulation from September.
The fresh design will still feature a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was commissioned by the RBA way back in in 1984. There’s also a bunch of new colorful icons and an odd gradient of dull colours. Nice!

The response to our new fiver has been mixed to say the least.
With the new design for the note being released, Australians again have asked themselves: why do we have the damn queen on our money, since she hasn’t set foot in Australia in five years and has little to no impact on our politics? Looking to remedy this, the people have spoken and have offered some more fitting alternatives.
