Let’s all spare a thought for Australia’s public servants who have today been dealt a harsh blow in the wardrobe department.

Tough new grooming measures have been handed down to prevent government workers wearing onsies and Ugg boots to work. Yes, this apparently is an actual thing affecting real people working for our government.

In response, Department secretary Mike Pezzullo​ has today faced a Senate Estimates hearing to inform the mob that he was forced to make a determination as to whether onesies are appropriate workplace attire.

Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young asked department heads whether they thought the guidelines were necessary or whether it was common sense.

“I couldn’t imagine that many people would be rocking up to work in Ugg boots?”

asked a departmental head to the committee.

“Ah, You’d be surprised”

Ms Hanson-Young said.
