‘Stranger Things’ Fans Can’t Contain Their Thirst For Steve & Eddie

The boys are back in town and by boys, we of course mean OG hearthrob Steve Harrington and newcomer Eddie Munson are sizzling up the new season of Stranger Things.

After a painful three years between seasons, the first half of Season 4 of Stranger Things is finally here — and it feels good.

FYI: This post contains minor spoilers, so if you haven’t seen the new season yet — and plan to — then off you go! Goodbye!

The first seven episodes saw the monster-fighting crew take on the evils of the Upside Down from different corners of the globe. While the main gang remained in Hawkins, the Byers were living their best east-coast life in California, while Jim Hopper (yes, he’s alive!) was stuck in a Russian prison camp.

This season The Party (aka the Stranger Things friendship circle) take on a new evil known as Vecna who is killing the school’s students, with the new episodes invoking horror tropes like possession and haunted houses, while referencing historic milestones like the Satanic Panic which took hold of the US in the 1980s.

Along with some rather gruesome death scenes and disturbing nightmare fuel sequences, Season 4 is also stacked with dreamy men. Stranger Things fans already know and love Steve. He was introduced as Nancy’s shitty boyfriend, but he ended up being granted one hell of a redemption story when in Season 2 he became Dustin’s babysitter, and in Season 3 he started a sweet friendship with Scoops Ahoy coworker, Robin.

In Season 4, Steve is struggling to find a girlfriend (this show is clearly a piece of fiction) and finds himself growing closer to his ex-girlfriend, Nancy, who has become increasingly estranged from her current boyfriend, Jonathan.

On to our other boy crush, Eddie is introduced in the first episode of Season 4 as the leader of the Hellfire Club, a group of school outcasts who play Dungeons and Dragons. Eddie is an unpopular student and considered the class freak, which makes his unlikely friendship with popular cheerleader, Chrissy, all the more unexpected. Before her untimely death after being cursed by Vecna, Chrissy had asked for Eddie’s help to buy drugs for her to self-medicate, and in response he offered her humour and compassion — proving that under his tough guy exterior was a sweet soul.

Both Steve and Eddie are introduced as aggressive and abrasive alpha males, but deep down they couldn’t be more opposite. Stranger Things fans can’t get enough of these two sweet boys.

In the first volume of Season 4, Steve was on especially fine form, even stripping down at one stage while on a boat attempting to transport to the Upside Down. In a scene we can all relate to, as Steve disrobed, Max grabbed binoculars to get a better look.

Huge mood.

Steve Harrington is the perfect man. No arguments.

But Steve better watch his back because Eddie is coming for his crown as the thirst-trap king of Stranger Things. Fan can’t get enough of him.

Steve and Eddie are the wholesome kings we deserve. Bring on Volume Two and more adorable men, we say.
