Love is in the air on Married at First Sight tonight — nah PSYCH, I’m totally kidding — most of the OG couples are at war and it feels like almost every relationship is on the verge of falling apart.

Even always dependable couple, Booka and Brett, have evolved into an absolute shitshow. Things took a turn for the worse tonight when Patrick and Belinda were entrusted with writing a feedback letter for the hipster pair, and Patrick seized the chance to tear Booka’s character to shreds, labelling her self-obsessed. As Brett read the nasty words aloud, Booka was shooka! I’m sorry, I’ll see myself out. But for real, Booka was deeply hurt, as she knew that all the insults contained in the letter must have come from Brett venting to Patrick about her.

If this wasn’t tense enough, Booka was tasked with throwing a special dinner for Brett that was all about him, where she was told she wasn’t “allowed to talk about yourself at all the whole night.” Booka didn’t take these instructions kindly. She decorated the apartment with pictures of Brett, before penning a song with one simple lyric: “Brett.” It was VERY funny, but Brett didn’t see the humour in her stunt, and I don’t see them getting past this letter fiasco.

Another couple having explosive arguments were Alana and Jason, who got into a war of words that started in front of their family during the video call, and ended with Alana telling Jason she was going to leave the experiment. Thankfully, after sleeping on it, they both apologised and already seem to be making strides in the way they communicate.

After Booka and Brett’s dream romance quickly turned into a (low-key hilarious) nightmare, I’m pinning all my hopes on Alana and Jason, so they better not let me down.

Tonight’s loose Married at First Sight retold via hilarious tweets:

It’s clear Booka and Brett are headed for heartbreak, as Booka reads Brett her ‘sick and sucky’ list about their relationship. They then meet each other’s folks, which only makes them both realise how different they are in their approach to what a healthy relationship looks like.

The intruders continue with their intimacy week tasks. Johnny reads his confession letter to Kerry, tearing up as he admits that he regrets not spending enough time with his aunt before she died. In return, Kerry tells Johnny she “really likes” him.

Couples are tasked with writing letters that offer feedback for other couples in the experiment. Of course, Bryce and Rebecca seize the chance to throw more barbs at each other.

Alana and Brett meet each other’s family over video call. They get into an explosive argument in front of their families and Jason storms out. Back at their apartment, things escalate and Alana says she is going to vote to leave. After a night’s sleep, they both apologise and seem to have reignited their spark as Alana cooks for Jason while wearing lingerie.

Belinda and Patrick write a savage letter targeting Booka, which leads to Brett telling Booka that he agrees with the letter’s sentiments. She doesn’t take it well.

Patrick and Belinda are instructed to draw each other like Rose and Jack in Titanic.

Booka is instructed to plan a night that’s all about Brett and yep, Booka takes that literally. It is so perfectly petty, I’m actually in awe.
