Graffiti Covers Donald Trump’s Star On Hollywood Boulevard
Over the weekend the following image popped up on Reddit, showing a recent defacing of Donald Trump‘s star on Hollywood Boulevard.
The swastika however is backwards, believed to be a mistake as when backwards, the image symbolises good luck, opposed to the meaning of hate and destruction as a magical means to world conquest that was used by the Nazi Party during and prior to World War II.
As Donald Trump “earned” this star in 2007 for his television series The Apprentice, this isn’t the first time that Trump’s star has been vandalised.
A Batman impersonator that often frequents the boulevard for tourists told The Wrap, that he had seen most visitors of the boulevard either stomp on Trump’s star or pretending to poop on it. In September of last year, a big yellow X was put over Trump’s star. The Batman impersonator continued to mention
“I’ve never seen this kind of hate put on a star before, not even Bill Cosby.”
Apparently, defacing Hollywood Boulevard stars is an ongoing trend, specifically to personalities that trigger frustration. Bill Cosby’s star was vandalised in December of 2014 with the word “rapist” sprayed across it. Thousands called for the removal of Cosby’s star, that it should be retracted due to all the rape allegations against him.
Turns out, according to Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, as a rule, being loudmouthed and wealthy is a perfectly good reason to not have your star removed once a star has been issued to a Hollywood personality, it cannot be removed.
We will not be removing @BillCosby's star on the Walk of Fame. We tried but it's too heavy, so we're going to leave it there forever. Sorry!
