Whilst a lot of grumpy folk are quick to place foxes firmly within the ‘vermin’ category of urban wildlife, when they’re not upturning bins or having really loud sex, they’re actually pretty adorable – and apparently the ideal dinner guest.

Stevie The Fox, London’s first fox cafe is due to launch on Monday 25th May at a secret East London location. Whilst a lot of information remains under wraps, Stevie The Fox will stay open for a total of three weeks, during which time it is hoped that the enterprise will smash the widespread perception that foxes are nothing but a mischievous nuisance. Visitors will be able to spend an hour and a half with six young foxes, all of whom are fully trained and domesticated under the supervision of experienced handlers.

If that weren’t enough, they’ll be serving up a platter Fox’s biscuits and Fox’s glacier mints (note: all suitable for human consumption).

In a world where pushing boundaries is the only way to secure success, entrepreneurs are going out of their way to think outside of the established box – and it would seem that London’s cafe scene has become something of a menagerie. Following the much anticipated launch of Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium (essentially, a cat cafe), and Annie the Owl in Soho (like a cat cafe, but with owls), it would appear that paying for the privilege of dining alongside furry or feathered friends is the Next Big Thing in urban cafe culture.
