Check out these stunning photos of Mongolian people who ride reindeer
If there is anything that will shake you straight from the roots, it is definitely the discovery of the diverse ways of life that exist globally. As we sit comfortably in suburban life, content in the swing of an Australian lifestyle, it is beautifully confronting to stumble across photos which capture the lives of those with an entirely different way of living.
Meet the Mongolian Dukha people; a small Tuvan Turkic community of reindeer herders from northern Mongolia and one of the last groups of nomadic reindeer herders in the world. The Dukha community are immersed entirely in the nature of their surroundings, disconnected from technology and the politics of urban culture.
Here, professional photographer, Hamid Sardar-Afkhami, perfectly captures the humbling sense of Dukha life in a photographic series entitled ‘Taiga’.
