BREAKING: Oscar Pistorius Has Been Sentenced Only 6 Years Jail For Murder Of Reeva Steenkamp
South African Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius has been sentenced to just six years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013. The crime often carries a life sentence in South Africa.
The verdict comes after his first conviction to manslaughter was changed to murder last December after the prosecution appealed. The prosecution and defence are expected to appeal this verdict.
The trial has become a public obsession, after Pistorius shot Steenkamp four times through a locked toilet door in February 2013.

6 Years?
For murder?
What a joke. RIP Reeva. #pistorius pic.twitter.com/q5Nwd6qHpu— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) July 6, 2016
Since Pistorius will be eligible for parole in one year, there are obvious concerns that he could be out of prison with a year.
It's worth noting you're eligible for parole after serving just 1/6th of your sentence in Sth Africa, so Pistorius may do just one year jail
