#4UpDay: Here’s Why A Whole Bunch Of Celebs Are Posting Four Finger Selfies Today

You might have caught a whole bunch of Aussie celebs, bloggers and professional good looking people posting a four finger salute on IG today. As it turns out, it’s all for a damn good cause.

The selfies popping up in newsfeeds are there to represent the 44,000 young people around Australia who live on the streets and deal with homelessness, often with a history of trauma and abuse. It’s all terribly shitty and often an overlooked topic.

The four finger movement, which is being shared with the #4UpDay hashtag is part of The Lighthouse Foundation’s inaugural 4UpDay campaign. Which for one day only is bringing together a bunch of private donors, who are generously quadrupling (that’s a big x4) any money put towards ending youth homelessness. That means your $10 donation is actually a bloody substantial $40 contribution. You can get around it and contribute here.

The foundation was hoping to raise its goal of $576,000 within 24 hours and with 16 hours still left on the clock is sitting at 91 percent completion with $524,748 raised. Fair to say: they’ve smashed it. The money is going towards giving vulnerable youngsters a home, a sense of family, and around-the-clock therapeutic care that is trauma-informed and proven to work.

Celebrity ambassadors getting behind it include international actress Deborra-Lee Furness, DJ Havana Brown and Sydney Swans stars Josh Kennedy and Dan Hannebery.’

#4UpDay – HELP END YOUTH HOMELESSNESS – @lighthousefoundation’s inaugural #4UP day is today – If they reach their goal of raising $576,000, all donations over the 24 hours will be matched FOUR TIMES by some very generous supporters ???????? – So far they are 60% there!! This overwhelming pledge shows just how worthy the foundation's work is in combating youth homelessness which most of us are lucky not to have endured – with those funds we can bring twenty new youths into the safety of a Lighthouse home. Even if you only give $1, $4 will go towards the cause. Please show your support by posting your own #4UpDay selfie to spread the word and donating at www.charidy.com/Lighthousefoundation ✔️✌???? Very proud of my partner @spoonful_of_sarah for being an ambassador and a member of the advisory board on such a worthwhile cause. Get involved people.
